Sanctuary Dogs

Here at TDYNRESCUE, we also have a few "sanctuary dogs".

These are dogs that for one reason or another just wouldn't function in a regular household, so they have a forever safe haven here with us. We don't put any unrealistic expectations on the dogs. They are free to do as they please and it seems to work. They're happy and that's the way we like it.

A couple have a some health issues. For example Fred has a poorly hip.  He had an operation but it's still not 100%.  And then there is Alfle who has Leish*.  It's under control for the time being and he is comfortable and happy.   Some have had an especially difficult life and are better to stay with us.  Bonnie and Clyde are just the sweetest bonded pair. They're devoted to one another and are always together.

*("Leish" is short for Leishmaniasis, a parasitic disease that is found in parts of the tropics, subtropics, and southern Europe. It is spread by the bite of the sand fly.)
